MAJOR SIGNING: Megan “Mo” Mullings
The Launceston Tornadoes are excited to announce the signing of skilled forward Megan “Mo” Mullings for the 2025 NBL1 South Season. Hailing from Arizona, USA, Mullings brings a wealth of international experience to the Tornadoes.
Mullings is known for her dynamic playing style and physical presence on the court. In her most recent performance in the NBL1 with the Brisbane Capitals, Mullings averaged 14 points and 8 rebounds per game. Additionally, she recently played in New Zealand with the Northern Kahu, cementing her reputation as a versatile and impactful international player.
Acting Vice Chair Madi Shepherd commented on Mullings’ signing saying "we are looking forward to welcoming Mo to Tasmania and integrating her into our team. Along with her impressive skill set on the court, we are confident that she is going to have a tremendous impact on the court as well, engaging with our loyal Tornadoes community. Mo has the potential to become a new fan favourite!"
Mullings shared her excitement about joining the Tornadoes stating “I’m super excited to play in Launceston this season. I’ve heard nothing but great things from previous players, and Zoe is putting together a really competitive side that I know will be fun to be a part of. This will be my first time stepping foot in Tasmania, and I’m really looking forward to exploring all that Tassie has to offer.”
Tornadoes Head Coach Zoe Mesman added “I am super excited to bring Mo into the Launceston community and to see the crowd rally behind her. Mo is an exceptional athlete who plays with intensity and is a game-changer on both ends of the floor. She loves to play physical ball, defends fiercely, and demands the best from her teammates.”
Acting Vice Chair Madi Shepherd also added, “this signing exemplifies our commitment to bringing talented, passionate players to our region who can perform at the highest level and inspire our local athletes.”
Mesman commented on the upcoming season stating “the focus for the Tornadoes this season will be on playing with pace and bringing an up-tempo, high-intensity defence to every game. Our goal is to leave fans inspired, wanting to play just like the Launceston Tornadoes players. I’m certain that Mo will ignite a passion in young ballers who will want to be just like her on the court,” Mesman concluded.
The Launceston Tornadoes’ season kicks o on Saturday March 29 at Elphin Sports Centre against the Hobart Chargers at 5:30pm.
