Froling returns for fifth season with the Tornadoes

WNBL star Keely Froling has officially signed with the Launceston Tornadoes for the upcoming NBL1 South season, marking her fifth year with the Tornadoes and bringing a wealth of experience and leadership to the team.

Froling’s ability to dominate on both ends of the court has made her a premier player in Australian basketball. Known for her scoring, rebounding, and defensive tenacity, Froling’s versatility makes her an invaluable asset to the Tornadoes as they look to continue building their success in the NBL1 South.

Froling is no stranger to the Launceston community, having already established a strong presence in Tasmania. She brings not only her talent but also her leadership and professionalism to the team, poised to mentor the next generation of players.

“I am excited to be back with the Tornadoes for another season,” said Froling. “It’s a good group with a mix of youth and experience. With Zoe leading us, I’m really keen to see what the team can achieve.”

Head Coach Zoe Mesman commented on Froling’s return: “Keely brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our group and drives everyone to be at their best. We are lucky to have such an elite player busting to get back on the court and start the NBL1 season off in the form she was in during the 2024/25 WNBL season. I hope the local community will leave our games inspired by Keely’s work ethic, offensive power and defensive heart.”

Acting Vice Chair, Madi Shepherd, added, “Frols is a fan favourite and at this point we consider her to be Tasmanian. Her commitment to this team on and off the court is admirable and we are elated to have her back playing as a Torn.”

Froling will be sponsored by Uniting AgeWell as they return as a sponsor in 2025.
